Amelia is another story. She went to the Vet yesterday morning for her annual shots and a grooming and she had to be sedated for the ordeal. Her long fur is beautiful, but getting very matted and messy looking lately. We weren't able to pick her up until this morning, so Luke made the observation that they both had sleepovers last night. True, but I'd been willing to bet Luke had a better time.Saturday, September 26, 2009
2 Sleepovers = 1 cranky boy + 1 goofy looking cat
So Luke went to his first sleepover last night. He was a little nervous and I was a little worried, but we packed up his stuff and he was fine. I picked him up this morning at 10am and he was all smiles and full of details from Colin's Lego/Star Wars party/sleepover. They had snacks, pizza, popcorn and cupcakes. They watched movies, played legos and destroyed a Darth Vader pinata. According to Colin's mom, the party lasted until 4am, so Luke is nice and cranky today. A small price to pay for a very successful 1st sleepover!

The twins turned SIX yesterday...so hard to believe.
Will went to bed sick Thursday night with a high fever and woke up on his birthday feeling no better. He stayed in bed most of the day and rested and watched SpongeBob and iCarly. His fever went as high as 103, but by the time it came time to eat cake and open gifts he was feeling a bit better and his fever had gone down a bit. Today the birthday celebration continues b/c yesterday wasn't much of a celebration. Jon and I had planned to take the twins out to dinner at a new place in Marysville that they had been wanting to try...instead we got Mexican take-out from Casa and chilled at home. Luke wasn't around b/c he had his first slumber party last night...but we'll save those details for the next post :)

Luke's birthday note to his brothers...he taped it on the back of their bedroom door for them to see as soon as they woke up. He got the "mirer" idea from a book he was reading!
Will chilling in bed. He's perked up a bit b/c he's holding his first birthday gift of the day...a Mario Bros shirt from Gigi. He and Evan wore there new shirts for the rest of the day!
Evan chilling in the van as we wait to pick up our Mexican take-out. We had just dropped off Luke and hit the library for some new books. Evan is reading about Cam Jansen and a birthday mystery.
Will feeling not so hot as we get ready to eat some dinner. He did end up eating a few nacho chips...

The cakes! We ordered them from the Ribbon Box Cakery in Marysville andthe twins were very specific that it needed to say "Go Bucks" and have six buckeyes.
So that's what they got :)

Better Late Than Never...
I almost forgot to post this one... The boys and I all participated in the Summer Reading Program at the library and for the very first time, all 4 of us finished and earned our free T-shirts! I wish I had taken pictures of Luke and I in the past wearing our Summer Reading T-shirts, because he's always worked so hard to read the required amount, but at least we got a picture this year. I'm so proud of my little readers!

Animals on Safari...
The 'Animals on Safari' show at the Columbus Zoo is wonderful! We've gone several times this summer and here are a few recent pics. The domestic animals used in the show are adopted from local animal shelters and then trained for the show...I thought Aunt Sus would be most interested in this post! :)

Buckeye Fever...

Last weekend, we packed a lunch and went out in search of Buckeyes. We found LOTS! The boys had a blast and it was fun to seek out Buckeye trees and work to get the nuts off the trees. The boys got most excited when they found 'twins' or 'triplets'...when one 'nut' held 2 or 3 Buckeyes inside. Now we just have to make a bunch of Buckeye necklaces to sell. The boys are convinced it's gonna make us rich! ha ha
